The Legend of FATHER And The SOURCE FAMILY

Most of us were fanatics on some plane.  Indeed, you almost had to be to hang in there.  So most of us were not particularly surprised when she would juggle a tape recorder in one hand – recording – and a big camera – shooting – in the other while we were all moving about 400 miles an hour . . . even as she jockeyed to find a seat as near to Father as possible among 8 cars and vans which were roaring out of one of our properties . . . as he sped off to some new adventure . . . all on a New York second’s notice !

After Father left his body and after our own “Mini Diaspora” (dispersal) Isis spent many years schlepping around boxes and trunks of our photos, slides, teachings, films, albums and stuff all over the country – constantly trying to figure out how to raise the money to buy better storage containers and trying to  figure out how to preserve, protect and eventually re-produce our priceless (to us) legacy.  Most cannot grasp how swiftly things deteriorate in the tropics – with molds and mildews and the salt that is always in the air. 

Isis was always trying to convince someone to help her do all of the work to compile her multiple notebooks and stories and thousands of tiny little pieces of paper with cryptic, sometimes hard-to-read notes . . . all of which she had held onto for over 30 years.  She realized that she was not a writer and she didn’t want to try to become one.  Eventually she noticed that Electricity kept expressing his curiosity about everything that had happened before he came into the Family in late 1974.  He had even been putting out the word that he would like to compile a book if everyone would contribute stories. 

In early 2000 Isis had the creative genius to make use of one of the family-oriented web sites to set up a private, sort of, “Chat room” where Family Members who wanted to could get together and share their love (and other emotions) from wherever they were in the world.  This began to pull some of us back together.  That summer, Isis and Electricity decided to work together to compile this story of Father and the Source Family.  Shew !   Who could have known that it would take 7 years before the publication of our current book ? !

It has been a real odyssey !   We began to work by Email and we soon realized that we would need to get together.  Isis was living on Oahu and Electricity on Kauai.  We came together in a mountain cabin for about a week.  Harvest Moon and Galaxy volunteered to share in the work and Electricity pulled together 4 computers and we were up there for about a week – working every minute of every day and night – giving birth to this awesome book !    

But it was  just a loose compilation of facts, stories, ideas, photos and teachings.  So it hit home that this would be a labor of love.   We began to learn how tricky and subtle it would be during that first week when – huddled near the fireplace in that awesome mountain cabin and hunched over our computers – 3 of Father’s original women began to pour over myriads of notes and re-awaken memories which had been gathering cobwebs for 25 years !   Often one of them would excitedly exclaim:  “Oh . . . remember when this or that happened ! ?”   It began to be crystal clear just how sketchy this process would be when – over and over – another one of them would say:  “That’s not what happened at all . . . this is what actually happened !”   And often the third would then pipe up:  “Well . . . actually – it was THIS that really happened !”  

So . . . it was about June of 2006 when we sent it off to the printers !

Within days of having sent it off to the printer . . . Isis got a call from some lady who said:  My husband gave me a copy of your DVD for my birthday and – when we finished watching it together – I said  We need to find these people and write a book about them !   HAH !

Isis said:  Well we’ve already written a book about us and it’s at the printer right now.  She said “Well, that’s even better !”

So . . . that was our dear and precious Jodi Wille – of Process Media - who spent about a year of her life working with us to expand and re-edit this book to turn it into the other "Untold" book and make it more fun and palatable for you. 

This is an elegant book . . . a handsome, impressive 6” X 9”, with glossy, laminated bond cover – featuring gold foil on “The Name” (in Hebrew and English), YHVH, and a spectacular compilation of some of the original Family photos: “The Invincible Warriors of Light” . . . It is truly awesome.
